I previously purchased a parrotlet from Ruth Anne and came to know her as a caring, selective breeder of exotic birds. Her family of birds are housed in meticulously clean cages with plenty of activities for every bird. When new babies hatch, they are hand fed, imprinted, and socialized to humans. It is this time consuming, integral part of the birds early life that produces the most wonderful life long companion.

When a trio of orange-winged Amazon parrot babies became available, I immediately flew to Wisconsin from New York to choose my first Amazon. I told Ruth Anne I wanted the 'real character' of the group and she said Bert was the one for me. She was right. Upon returning to New York, we took Bert to an avian veterinary specialist for his check up. She was impressed by his physical appearance and outgoing personality. Lab tests and blood work confirmed his excellent health.

At age 12 months, he still doesn't have much of a tail due to his acrobatics! But he is talking and like to laugh at himself as he practices his vocalizations. He is affectionate to all he meets, readily 'stepping up' to them and cuddling for a head scratch. What a charmer! Thanks Ruth Anne.

Ruthanne, we cannot thank you enough as we are in love with our new baby parrotlet! We could not have asked for a better bird and addition to our "flock!" One could tell that he has had the utmost are in feeding and weaning as you could not ask for a healthier and better acclimated baby than this. We have owned several birds in the past and it is easy to say that your birds are some of the best we have ever come across. We are also most especially impressed by the extremely sweet and loving disposition of our baby bird Levi as we know that you are greatly responsible for this. And, thanks for your time on the phone and answering all our questions as you seem to really care about who the bird's new parents will be and not just making a sale - most impressive! The list could go on, but all I can say is that we are so lucky we came across your path and connected as we could not have asked for a better baby bird. I also must mention that we especially appreciated your input with the bird casserole and Goldenfeast products as they make all the difference! Thanks for "bird" educating us in many ways and bringing so much joy into our lives!!!

I had been wanting a Sun Conure for a long time and found Ruth Anne's site with all of her little babies. We went to see the babies that would be ready to go to a new home soon and #20 my Daisy stole my heart that day. I wanted to take her home then!! Ruth Anne is their mother and she is a very good mother. All of the bird wanted to be with her that day and she would talk to them all and her Amazon Princess Diana sang Old McDonald for us and her cockatoo Powder danced. It is just a happy. loving environment and you see it in her birds. Daisy is a loving little girl, she snuggles up on my neck and makes little happy sounds. She loves to be out of her cage and we do let her out but have to supervise because we have a large German Shepherd who is very interested in her but she is very protective. She fluffs out her feathers and tries to snap at him, it is funny to see this tiny bird try to take on the dog! I just can't say enough about Ruth Anne, she loves those birds!! If you are looking for a great place to buy well adjusted happy birds she is the one to call!!

It was wonderful buying a baby from Ruth Anne, she drove three hours from her house to come meet us. She brought all three babies with and let us pick out which one we wanted to take home. Ellie May is the sweetest thing ever, Ruth anne's babies are well socialized and warm up to people very quickly. It was a pleasure doing business with Ruth Anne and I would reccommend her to anyone who wanted a bird.

Thanks so Much

Hello, This is Ashley and Frankie
On Febuary 15th, '08 we got a bueatiful 3 month old Sun Conure From Ruth Anne that we named "Bailey Sunshine."

Nearly two weeks have past and he is still the sweetest most loveable bird we know. We can attest this to the attention that the bird recieve when he was just a baby.

You can just tell that she loves her birds by how she works with them. We would definately reccomend her for anybody that is looking for a Sun Conure or any of the other birds that she offers.

Bailey is the most loving, trusting bird we have ever met. Thanks Ruth Anne

We recently purchased a beautiful, darling sun conure from Ruth Thompson. He is an absolute doll!!! He is so unbelievably friendly and smart, both are characteristics i've never seen in a bird. To be 100% honest we were also looking for sun conures from about 5 other breeders, but we picked Ruth. We picked Ruth because from just looking at her website we could get a feel that she truly cared about her birds and that they were her babies. When we called her she was so nice! You could tell she truly loved her feathered babies, and we were sold. She is very trustworthy. (We had the baby shipped from Wisconsin, where Ruth lives, all the way down to south Florida.) The baby sun conure loves to be around people. Each time he hears the door open he goes crazy, he gets so excited that a person has come in the house, and all he wants to do is get out of his cage and give his owner little bird kisses. He is truly a great bird and I wouldn't get a bird from anyone else but Ruth Thompson! The Barbe family

Jill and I are very happy with Sam (Sun Conure). He is very sweet and always keeping us entertained. You are a very good birdie mother and made our experience of purchasing a baby bird so easy and enjoyable. We would definitely recomend you to anyone looking for a good breeder, one who cares a lot about their birds and their customers. Thank you very much.

Merry Christmas from Tango!

Tango is doing real well. He is a joy everyday. He has settled in just fine and loves everyone. You did a wonderful job of socializing him. My husband says he is more spoiled than the kids are. He was definatly the hit last night at our extended family Christmas. He was soaking up all of the attention he got from everyone. Hope you had a good Christmas!

Pickle the Parrotlet is doing great! He doesn't like to be left alone, and will sqeak to let you know it. He seems most happy sitting on my shoulder while I am typing or exploring my office. He has discovered my stash of beads and loves them, as well as anything sparkly! He curls up and goes to sleep about 10 pm every night, but beats everyone up in the morning. He gets along just fine with my Shih tzu, Kirby, and my cat, Pookie. Most of Pickle's free time, when not with me, is spent eating, he loves his millet, soft food and regular food, but so far he hasn't been a big fan of his Papaya treats. The swing and the cuttlebone perch are two of his favorite places, but his rope perch and mirror are a close second. I am very excited to have this litte guy and wanted to let you know that you raise AWESOME little birdies. The carrier they came in was great and both Pickle and Pieta (the little blue female my sister-in-law go t) did not seem stressed at all by the trip. Flying from WI to MT must be a long ways for a tiny bird, but they were both eating and chirping away on arrival. I will keep you updated with pictures and stories, and of course his training progress (when we get to that point)! Thanks again, Ruth, for the great little addition.

Hey Ruth Ann, its Tessa, I don't know how to write a testimonial on your website. So I will write one here and if you want to cut and paste it onto your website that would be great.

Ruth Ann is an extremely sweet and pleasant person. She has a great knowledge of the bird world, and was able to answer all of my questions. She spent hours with my father and I teaching us everything we need to know about my new bird Roma. She was very helpful and offered my bird food, bird magazines and bird toys. Her beautiful house is full of exotic parrots of various sizes, it was very exciting. I would definitely recommend her to anyone interested in a Parrottlet or any other bird. I hope you are able to sell the rest of your babies and I hope everything goes well for you, your a great person and thanks for constantly answering all my questions about the new love of my life, Roma. We both love you, thanks again and good luck with everything.

We recently purchased a sun conure from Ruth Ann and found her by complete coincidence. Our wonderful little green cheek conure named Louie died unexpectly and I stopped into Pet Food Outlet in Cottage Grove on my lunch break to see if they knew where I could find another bird. After telling my story on how Louie died and a lot of tears by both of us, she went to her book of phone numbers and pulled out four different numbers. As I was writing them down, she ran across Ruth's card. Ruth's number was the last one I got, but the first one I called. How lucky I was! When I talked to her, I knew immediately I was going to buy a bird fro m her. Just caring isn't a good enough word for Ruth. She is wonderfully caring! I felt as though I knew her my whole life. My daughter, husband, and I went out later that day and met her and our new addition to our family, Tiki. We spent three hours at her house. We met some of the other birds and sang some songs with one named Princess Diana. When we were ready to leave she took some pictures of us and supplied us with some food for Tiki and his little hut he sleeps in. She also supplied us with lots of helpful information. With tears filling her eyes, she sent us on our way. Tiki was one of her first hatches and she has been looking for a home for him as she decided not to breed him. We can't understand why someone didn't snatch him up sooner, and lucky for us no one did! She told us how sweet Tiki was over the phone, but words didn't do him justice! Not only is Tiki beautiful, he is also so gentle and sweet , and it is because of Ruth. The attention she gave her birds in the three hours we were there was unbelievable. We can't thank her enough. Losing Louie was so hard, but finding Tiki has softened the pain a lot. We have already told people about Ruth. I also just copied some testimonials for a co-worker of my husband who is thinking about buying another bird. Pet stores don't stand a chance with Ruth selling her birds. If anyone is interested in a bird call Ruth before anyone else. Thank you so much for Tiki, Ruth!

Early August, I started searching the internet for a blue parrotlet. I came across an ad on Hoobly.com. I sent an email to inquire about the birds. Ruth Anne was very quick to respond and was always a pleasure to deal with! She helped me prepare for my new baby and answer all of my questions and gave me advise. We spoke several times on the phone and also communicated via email. Ruth Anne also referred me to Love on the Wing, where I purchased all of Willie's Goldenfeast, and cages! They were wonderful too! I had everything set up before I brought him home!

Due to our work schedules and other commitments, we were unable to get together until Labor Day weekend- Sure, I could have had my parrotlet shipped to me and received him sooner- but Ruth Anne offered to meet me at a half way point- since we lived 3 hours apart! This worked out great! She brought along the 3 male babies that she had for sale, their daddy ~ Jerimiah and also a female Sun Conure. We had a wonderful visit and I felt like I made a new friend and went home with my new baby boy, Willie! (I am a big Willie Nelson fan!)

Willie is my first bird, and YES he is spoiled. My friends always comment on the size of his cage and all of his toys (My husband says his cage looks like Disneyland!) But- I know he is happy and that is all that matters!

Willie doesn't talk yet, I tell him that his sister and brother both talk- but he hasn't quite figured it out yet. He is so cute, I know he wants to- he will stare at me and open is beak really wide- but nothing comes out! But that's ok, he will talk someday- right now he is a pro at making kissy sounds and cuddling! Every night, we cuddle and "watch tv". He loves to cuddle in my hair or sit cupped in my husband's hands, we talk and practice saying "Big Kiss" "I Love You" and "Hi Willie". Tonight, he found another favorite spot- in my sleeve of my sweater!

He also loves to be preened and scratched on his cheeks and top of his head. He gets all fluffy - He is adorable!

My sister has a cockatoo, Nina, she is a great bird, but demands alot of attention and is really noisy when she is not getting any! The most noise Willie makes is when I leave the room without him- he chirps as loud as he can (not very) in a frenzy~ (I think he learned that from Nina!)

I am very happy that I chose a Parrotlet! He has a big personality in a tiny body! He has no fear and both of my dogs are scared of him.(They are 94 and 105 pound Golden Retrei vers- Willie is 30 grams!) Everyone always asks "How big will he get?" "That's it!" I tell them..."and he's going to talk!"

If you are looking for a new little FID to add to your family, I would suggest contacting Ruth Anne. Willie has been a wonderful addition to our family. I don't know what it is about birds, but they are addicting! I am sure it won't be long until we add another member to our family! If you have any questions, you may contact me too!

"We recently purchased a beautiful, spirited 6 month old female Sun Conure from Ruthie. She is a wonderful addition to our family of feathered friends! She is so affectionate and a real social butterfly just like me! She gives kisses and loves to play peek-a-boo from her bunker in her new cage. She is so funny in that thing, because it shakes with her in it, and she has her tail hanging out the back end. She loves to play fetch with a small orange ball that is suppose to be a cocatiel toy. She likes to hang out on top my head and nestle in my hair. She loves to visit other cages to check out the food selection and toys. That is a big No-No at our house because not everyone likes to share their space. She gets along great with Rascal, our 2 yr old Blue Crown Conure. They share a portable play gym during the Viking games. We also took a cruise to River Falls, WI to visit Ruthie. We had the most wonderful time ever!! Ruthie lives in a beautiful country setting, very typical of Wisconsin - with perfect conditions for raising birds and enjoying nature all around for miles! I did not want to see the day end! We ended up coming home with a pair of Visual Blue Parrotlets about 6 months old!! They are so tame and love to give kisses, and I know I heard the little male talk just the other day!! They know the Step Up command well and will go to the finger to perch often without it. We ran into Ruthie by pure accident, and I've gained a great friend and bird lover like me!! Can't wait to go back to Wisconsin!"

"Hi, my name is Tammi. I recently purchased a 7 month old visual blue male parrotlet as a gift for my Mom. Ruth was just wonderful, she answered all my questions and was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend buying a parrotlet from her. This little boy is so sweet! The transition for my Mom has been great and they are bonding very well! I don't think her babies can be any sweeter than they already are. Her babies are human like. Ruth, you are one wonderful Mommy!"

"Wiley is doing great! He loves attention and comes right to his perch by the door as soon as he sees me coming to get him. He can be burrowed in my hair and I just put my finger up to my shoulder and say “step up” and he will fight his way through tangles to make it to my finger and step up. I say “cuddles” and cup my hand and he will stand and lean into it to get his scratches. I can turn him upside down and rub his belly and he closes his eyes and loves it. And he makes kissing noises, says good bird, and I have heard him say step up too. So I think he is doing pretty awesome for his age!"
