I cook for my Birds soft food every week. I make a huge batch and freeze portions in Glad containers or Freezer bags, enough for 4 days worth in each container. They all enjoy this very much! (Also, do not use Teflon cookware as it will kill your birds very quickly when heated. I use all stainless steel. Teflon is bad for birds, bad for people.) I also cook Bean Supream from Golden Feast with noodles which has even more than this when not able to get to the store! I feed Golden Feast: Madagascar, Central American Preservation, Schimitts Original, large Hookbill Legume to all my Birds, I rotate every month so they get a new taste sensation!!
Homemade cooked diet ( Soft Food) for all Parrots.
1 cup each and mix in lg. bowl:
Kashi 7 whole grain Pilaf with sesame
1 tbl. Parsley
Lentals
Organic whole wheat coucous
white Basmati Rice
split Peas
steel cut oats
wild rice
black turtle beans

After cooked:
1 tbl cinnamon, 1 tbl poppy seed
1 tbl olive oil ,1 tbl Fennal seed
1 tbl spirulina

Bring 4 cups water to boil
Add 2 cups mixture
lower heat to med low and simmer covered for 25 min.
Let cool some
Add cinnamon,olive oil,spirulina,poppy seed,fennal seed, Mix and freeze into small Freezer bags or containers for future use. Lasts 4 days in frige. Warm up in Micro just a little. Order Quiko Spirulina from Drs. Foster and Smith, the rest in health food stores. Your birds will love this!
Add cooked noodles to be mixed with this cooked diet.

I also once a week add just a pinch of Quiko Multivitamin to their water and sprinkle a little Quiko Spirulina on their soft food ( veggies, fruit ) Your birds will have beautiful feathers and be very healthy!

I also recomend full Spectrum Lighting from Drs Foster and Smith. I use the wall lights on timers.

DAILY DRY MIX FOR PARROTLETS
I mix a ratio of 8 to 1 with this seed mix. I do not cook this.
IN LARGE BOWL
8 cups of Goldenfeast Parakeet Plus
1 cup Goldenfeast Treat Petite
1 cup Goldenfeast Petite Hookbill Formula
1 cup Goldenfeast Australian Blend
1 cup Goldenfeast Brazilian Blend Nestling & Conditioning Food
4 cups small black sunflower seeds
1 cup Petamine Dietary Enrichment
I mix this all together and place in quart size or gallon ziplock bags and freeze them, taking out enough till that bag is gone. A couple times a week I sprinkle Spirulina on top of their seed cup.
